Desert of Desolation 2.0

(Sean-Khan)

Nonniin, kortit on ladattavissa.

Eli ladatkaa kortit & testailkaa! http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/mi/200801...

DoD Korttipäivityksiä

Alla WotC_GregB:n korjaukset ja selkeytykset DoD -korteista. Enimmäkseen järkevää, mutta että animoidut patsaat eivät ole immuuneja myrkyille...

So here’s an update. In the next pdf, we’ll hopefully be including some clarifications, such as rules for mounts. In addition, there will be some rules errata to the general effect of: If a special power does not specify what action it replaces, then it can be used on a creature’s turn without expending an action. That’s not official or anything, but it is relevant to some of my notes below.

Oh, and we're going to make an attempt to fit the blindsight text into the gel cub's card. As for the language for "bordered" on the Drider, this will probably be changed to simply say "adjacent to a wall."

Angel of Vengeance: Sign of Vengeance: Doesn’t say when it can be used or how much of an action it is.
This is a situation where it will not require an action to use, but the creature must perform the power on its turn.

Animated Statue: Are constructs immune to poison?
No; they are not. We don’t have construct-specific traits like immunity to poison.

Farmer: People thought it seemed to have high stats.
The farmer has below baseline hp, which is a consideration in how he is stated and the points he is given. However, his stats will be changing slightly.

Human Cleric of Bahamut: Bless & Cure Wounds: Doesn’t say when it can be used or how much of an action it is.
Bless is going to have an addendum that specifies duration. However, both the powers, like sign of vengeance, are used on a creature’s turn and do not require an action.

Sphinx: Pounce: “Move at least 2 squares…” but doesn’t tell you the limit it can move. It’s not clear to me whether this attack action is intended to grant movement, or whether it can only be used after the Sphinx uses its normal move action to move.
This should have been “Move up to this creature’s speed and at least 2 squares and then...” It is being fixed.

Thundertusk Boar: Rabid Charger: This isn’t limited to basic melee attacks, so it seems it allows other sorts of melee attacks to be used on a charge.
This should be limited to basic attacks.

Merchant Guard: Bodyguard: This appears to work against close and area attacks too.
After some debate, we decided that is was okay for the body guard power to work on close and area attacks.

Warhorse: Charger: The rider’s extra attack isn’t limited to basic melee attacks. I’m not quite sure what the purpose is. “When charging, this creature’s rider” seems to indicate that the rider is doing the charge (meaning: not the horse), which suggests that the rider effectively gets two attacks: It’s basic melee attack and any one other melee attack.
The text has been clarified on this card and the melee attack should be a basic melee attack.

Eternal Blade: Champion Power #2: Refers to “ally” singular, but doesn’t mention how to choose that ally. Is this an implicit choice?
This has been clarified to indicate that you choose an ally.

Mental Shock: (living targets only) +11 vs DEF (Fort); 10 Damage.
Is "living targets only" a range? If so, do you have to have line of sight?
The range will be 10.
Should this be DEF (Will)?
This is being kept as Def (Fort)

Halfling Enchanter: Mirror Image: Doesn’t say when it can be triggered.
That’s because it doesn’t trigger. It’s an immediate action that you can use. Text was added to indicate it lasts until the end of the halfling enchanter’s turn (as opposed to the player’s turn).

Halfling Rogue: Tumble: Doesn’t say when it can be triggered.
As per the rules clarification for Special Powers, this is a power that can be used on this creature’s turn without a cost. It has no trigger.

Demonweb Swarm: Should this have the spider keyword?
Yes.

Guardian Mummy: Fear’s Dark Shadow: I think the intent here is for the condition to not go away at the end of the affected creatures turn. However, conditions do so automatically. I think this needs better language to meet the intent.
We decided this was clear enough. Conditions do go away automatically unless otherwise specified, but the text of this card implies that as long as that creature is affected by ongoing necrotic, the condition remains.

Manticore Sniper: Tail Spikes: Range is missing.
Should be sight.

Nightmare: Blink Out: Doesn’t say when it can be triggered. Even worse, it doesn’t say when it ends! Grants Conceal 11 instead of Insubstantial!? Has all kinds of wordiness (including “solid objects,” which is a term the rulebook doesn’t define) instead of simply granting Phasing!?
This is not a triggered effect; it is a power the creature uses without expending an action on its turns. The wordiness has been reduced and it now gains phasing.

Spined Devil: This is listed at 21 points instead of 27. (Earlier word suggested that it would be restatted at 27 points.)
An earlier edition of the spined devil was released at 21 points before we decided to try and keep all the point costs the same. So we didn’t have two different cards circulating for the Spined Devil, we decided to keep this cost for consistency with the other card.

Spined Devil: Spine Shield: Doesn’t say when it can be triggered. (Earlier word suggested this would be cleared up on the 27 point restat card.)
Again, this is a power to be used on the creature’s turn without expending an action. There is no trigger.

Rage Drake: Frenzied Action: No built-in per-turn usage limit here, so it might use both extra actions on the same turn.
Should be once per round.

Yuan-Ti Malison: Serpent Arrow: Doesn’t list a range.
Sight.
