Suomen karsinnat 2010(plastic finn)
Terve KAIKKI pelaajat! Oletko kiinnostunut?! Minä olen. Saatan tosin toimia tuomarina. |

Kiinnostusta riittää

Mukana ollaan
(Reuben) Sun 14.03.2010 15:12:29...kuten sanottua, ellei FM-tyyppisiä esteitä tule. Voin myös tarvittaessa olla organisointiapuna.

Kyllä, Constructed 200.
(plastic finn) Tue 16.03.2010 22:56:38Kyllä, Constructed 200.
Haettu on.

In Porvoo you have this thing called reilu meininki.
(FriendlyAlienist) Sat 08.05.2010 22:10:44Justjooaivanilla oli ykkösbändi - vain kolmea eri sanaa ;D

Kiitos kaikille

Kiitos minunkin puolestani,
(Latekettu) Sun 09.05.2010 11:30:58Kiitos minunkin puolestani, olin yllättynyt pärjäämisestäni eikä tappio finaalissa harmittanut, paremmalleen kun sai hävitä. Onnea Esalle!
Erityiskiitos Antille, hieno meininki.
Esa's tournament report
My band: Dwarf Battlemaster, Githzerai Monk (x2), Yuan-Ti Halfblood Sorcerer, Hobgoblin Marshal, Cleric of Yondalla, Elf Archer, Goblin Skirmisher (x2), Hobgoblin Warrior on Teleport Temple.
It was very difficult for me to choose a band for this tournament. The banning of WK an DS had opened up the meta. As I couldn't decide I packed three teams (wild, underdark and civilization) to get time to think But I still couldn't decide during my three hour journey so in the end I randomly picked one on the tournamet site just before the start. I expected to face lots of Nightwalker Sinisters and my Gith band was designed to quickly assassinate one. Of course I never faced a single Nightwalker. Actually to my great surprise there were none. But there were lots of Gith monks and Dwarf Battlemasters! :P
I was never completely happy with my band and still feel the same way. Hobgoblin Marshall and Cleric of Yondalla are useless after they have used their champion powers. But I felt that I couldn't do without some extra speed and melee power for the Giths, and couldn't find another way of giving it to them. What I did like about my band was the fact that on my map it was theoretically possible to charge my opponents start area at first round. You only need to fill some teleporters first.
Match 1 vs. Plastic finn: loss (0-1)
Plastic is our chapter master and very skilled player. He had a Dwarf Battlemaster and 5 Wand Experts and a gobbo runner on Dragon Grotto. I found out that this was the nightmare opponent for my band. His Battlemaster countered mine and those pesky Wand Experts kept jumping out of harms way whenever I tried to daze them. My activation control gave me some VA points and for couple of first rounds the game was quite even as we traded hits. I killed 3 of his WEs while he killed my both Giths. But then I was out of small activations and exposed my expensive support who went down quickly and I lost the match. At this point I felt that my band was wretched and that I was about to lose all my matches.
Match 2 vs. Junttur: win (1-1)
This was almost a mirror match. The differences were that instead of Cleric of Yondalla and Y-T Halfblood Sorc he had healer and 3rd Gith and two bodyguards. We played on my map. This was strange match because we both had very cold dice. This was also a very careful match due to the unforgiving nature of the map and the teams. I made a mistake and couldn't get VA points on the first round. But luckily for me Junttur made some critical mistakes which allowed me to kill a Gith monk of his with its autocrit still unused. We then committed our forces and duked it out and in the end I think it was the power of my Y-THS (a piece I really like) which gave me the upper hand. Still this was a very close match. We ran out of time as our bad rolls didn't allow us to hit each other! This was my first win and I was happy that I wouldn't go home without any.
Match 3 vs. Mage: win (2-1)
Mage was a really nice player with a creative band. He had a Thrall of Blackrazor and DFO and a Rakshasa Baron, whose champ powers he used to recharge the powers of those two strong pieces. We played on his map The Mithral Mines. I picked the more open side which probably was a mistake but as I won the match it's hard to say. He started by a DFO blast which took out my Elf Archer, Hobgoblin Warrior and would have killed Hobgoblin Marshall too as he rolled a natural 20 but I used a DB champ power to make it a normal hit. The match turned to me when I managed to autocrit his Rakshasa Baron to death. His DFO missed his second (recharged) blast against my monk. His Thrall was still a serious threat as he killed some of my little creatures and gained extra hitpoints. I used my hiding Y-THS and her dazing venom bolts to keep the Thrall in check. When time was called he had Thrall and DFO standing while I had only lost my less than ten point pieces. Or did I lose the Marshall too? can't remember for sure.
Match 4 vs. Justjooaivan: win (3-1)
Justjooaivan had the coolest band of the tournament, hands down. He had a pair of each of the following: Elf Archer, Elf Arcane Archer and Arcane Archer. And nothin else. I won my map. Justjooaivan made me somewhat nervous by saying that Teleport Temple suited his band well. He picked the bigger room and camped there. I carefully set up so that none of my pieces were adjacent to each other. Then we started. He chose to pick my Dwarf Battlemaster with his phase arrows but luckily for me his dice were cold. He missed DB twice letting him live with 20 hp! I wasn't able to charge during the first round from this side so I just advanced and took the VA points. On 2nd round I won init and quickly charged an EAA, autocritting him which allowed my DB to heal 20 hp. I brought my other pieces in and we fought it out. Justjooaivan kept rolling abysmally low except the two natural 20s which I turned to normal hits. He conceded when the situation turned hopeless for him. Suddenly my record was looking good and I realized that despite the bad start the tournament wasn't over for me.
Semifinals vs. Plastic finn: win
A re-match! And against the only team that had defeated me. And of course Plastic won his map again. I was pretty sure that my tournament would end here. But there were two key differences compared to the first match: first I had had some practise with my team and was more aware what it could do. And second now I had a strong idea what I should do against Plastic's band – taking out the rival Battlemaster was essential. Unlike the first match I picked the dead forest side and hid my weak pieces very well. Match started and I carefully out activated him. Again Y-THS was my key piece. Hide allowed it to advance invisible. With speed boost Y-THS venombolted the point grabbing goblin and forced one WE to jump. I finished the round by advancing with giths and moving a goblin skirmisher to VA. Then I won important 2nd round initiative. Now I was able to aggressively advance Y-THS towards his battlemaster and daze it. Then match deciding important roll fell to me as Plastic's battlemaster failed his save. Now his team was open for some criticals! His battlemaster went down quickly as well as the WE who had already jumped. At this moment plastics dice went quite cold for a couple of rounds. This decided the match for me. He started rolling well when he had 2 WEs left but that was too late and I went over 200 despite losing my both Giths. I was in the top two!
Finals vs. Latekettu: win
Latekettu had Cleric of Carl Glittergold, Xendric Champion, 2 Elf Arcane Archers, 2 Celestial Dire Badgers, Ravenous Dire Rat, Free League Ranger and a Kenku Sneak. I won Map. Latekettu picked the smaller room which has more teleporters near it. First round started and Latekettu's EAAs made a camp to his starting room. They picked off weak fodder, namely my Elf archer and Hobgoblin Warrior. I was somewhat surprised by that. I advanced and we both took VA points. On 2nd round Latekettu used Glittergold's sanctuary to protcet him from the unavoidable charge that he saw was coming his way. I think I surprised Latekettu by advancing with the Y-THS and venombolting Glittercold to dazed condition. I decided not to include anything else under the line because that would have risked the whole line missing if even single target was missed. Then I charged in with one Gith monk autocritting an EAA which I killed with my second Gith a little later. I used my Battlemaster to kill his VP grabbing rat. We then fought it out in his start area till the end. I was scoring VA points and he wasn't., which saved me. My Gith monks rolled horribly and Latkettu's Badgers startet rolling criticals, killing my last monk and the Sorcerer. So at the end of seventh round all my tough guys were gone but I had collected VA points every round and there I was with 205 points against his 160 or so. To my great surprise I had won the qualifier tournament!
I really enjoyed the tournament and not only because I won but also because the spirit was so good. Thanks to everybody involved and especially to Plastic finn who worked hard to organize this excellent event!
Kiitos kattavasta
(plastic finn) Sun 09.05.2010 23:21:58Kiitos kattavasta raportista! Erinomainen. Heitin Hordelingsille, porukka lukee varmasti mielellään voittajan vaiheista!
Mainiota luettavaa,
Kiitos raportista
(Ruukkukasvi) Mon 10.05.2010 09:05:23Oli mielenkiintoista nähdä miten pelit menivät.
Yuan-Ti figuja olen itse käyttänyt lähinnä Epicissä Anatheman seurana. Pitäisi joskus kokeilla minkälaisen junttibändin saisi 200 pisteellä aikaiseksi.
